As an update to this story. I went to a different fish store after a week of no fish in the tank. I bought an oranda and then 2 weeks later a ranchu. They are both thriving with no problems. That first store sold me sick with ich fish!

Yes those white spots are real. At first I thought they were white spots the orandas get when breeding but then I read they only occur on their wen? What ich treatment would you recommend?

the water changes I think made the Ammonia go down but the Nitrtites did not budge at all. I even tested my tap water then to see if it was the tap water but that was low. I was changing about 3/4 of the tank per change. ALl is good now though.

Here's my water test using that API Master Test kit after the tank being in operation for 2 weeks. All fish are still alive and seem to be happy with good appetites. pH: 7.6 High pH: 7.6 Ammonia: 1 ppm Nitrite: 5 ppm Nitrate: 15 ppm I haven't done any water changes yet.
