I use Easylife Profito and Easycarbo and my anubias nana and coffeeolia (sp?) have grown well, no melt or crinkle. i have removed maybe three leaves but only due to yellowing of an old leaf but they soon throw out a new shoot to replace it.

Ive got one with gymnogeophagus australis, pearl danios and bronze corys all in a planted aquarium. greatbidea and cheaper to run :)

I have changed from natural gravel to black tahitian moonstone sand. i love it, gives a completely different look, i have corys, plecs and earth eaters who seem to get on fine with it. my oh thinks its more of a fine gravel tho...!

Same as what mikey is suggesting but a fraction of the price... i used the small sponge filter for mine and it was perfect for the job.

Get a timer firstly for the lights and have you thought about nerite snails aka zebra snails? they dont reproduce in freshwater but do produce white eggs which can be removed

If i was you i would look for fish that prefer the ph you have... much simpler solution imo. i was breeding apistos and used ph down which was fine for my 12G i soon got bored though but on a larger scale i can only imagine it being a nightmare to maintain. That said if you wanted to bring it...

They only get agressive when breeding which is approx once a month (if u get a pair). when i say agressive i just mean they chase away other fish from the choosen spot. ive never known mine to hunt down anything as such. i would say a ram or apistos would be ok with your tank
