but there IS air in there. he has airstones in them. i know how a vacuum works..without air. that's the point of my post. i am asking how this is possible WITH a continuous airflow, as shown in these videos.

i wouldn't waste your money. i tried it once and half of the sand wouldn't sink and i couldn't get it to rinse clean. it also occured to me that even though the bag said non-toxic, that didn't necessarily mean it was fish-safe. i just threw mine out.

thanks. i have only seen blue elite tubing here in the US. (this is what we have everywhere- blue elite tubing ) i would like to find a supplier in the US to avoid ridiculous shipping costs.

i see that eheim makes green vinyl tubing, but i can't find green silicone tubing.

anyone know where to find it? i'm sick of the blue stuff that doesn't blend in with my planted tanks.

that depends on the type of fish and what life stage they are in. at what level do you normally keep your sg? salt does not evaporate but it doesn't really matter if you are doing water changes frequently enough (unless you have very high powered lighting-then you can see a difference in a week)...

i am not sure if they are available in scotland but i would recommend an azoo palm filter for a 5 g with a dp. i had a submersible duetto filter and it sucked my puffers in so i would certainly not recommend anyhting rated for more than 5 g.

i was just looking at the ingredient label on one of my fish foods...and it contains zeolite. i checked all of the other labels and none contain zeolite. anyone heard of this? does it reduce ammonia in the fish's waste? (im guessing no...) it's this one...
