Haha, thank you. The green terror i had for about 6 years so it was more of a pet, that's why i miss it. The rest, the tanks just seemed more intersting, i currently have a 60L tank with some apisto cockatoo but it kind of boring imo, plants are growing well with maximal rejection - i don't know...

Yeah salvini is one of the best looking cichlids imo but they're nasty, it would attack my hand often. Think once i move again and have room for a big tank i'll go for another pair though, if i don't turn 100% salt nerd by then that is.

I no longer have any of these tanks or fish, miss them so much though. The old manager at my LFS used to get in all sorts of weird stuff and tried to get stuff in you wanted, He even got a red terror in for one of the display tanks, was such a beaut but didn't have room for it myself lol.

Yeah it's algae, it does look okay in small bunches but once it gets crazy it's a complete nightmare. My planted tank is currently getting some now but i'm too focused on the reef tanks problems atm lol. Just keep it in check, i use a toothbrush to scrub it off rocks then brush my teeth after ;)

Cheap camera lens but the camera battery died before i could play around properly.

Ramhorns are peaceful, if you've got a problem with too many it's due to overfeeding but as you said about adding fish i'm guessing that's not the case, add some cucumber or lettuce into the tank and remove it when you see some snails on it, but honestly... the odd few isn't a problem imo...

I've just bought a temp/heater controller and i don't like the idea of having to put my heaters thermo set higher than the controller is set, if the controller fails the heater is going to shoot up. So any smaller heater without the thermo would do the job, better the heater does nothing if the...

So it turns out both the risepro digital thermoeters where completely off, i've seen so many people using these too. 1 of them is about 3c off, the other only 1c. Anybody know of some good titanium heaters pref 50w and small? Been recommended a but even the 50w is the same lenth as the 100w :/

Just wondering if anybody else owns this tank and what they've done with chamber 1, the intank media basket for the fluval evo doesn't fit in chamber 1, only the chamber 2 one fits.. So i've got a chamber doing nothing really, i've blocked most of the holes off with some plastic so the water...

Anyone using the intank media baskets with this tank? I've some questions on flow; Due to only the bottom 3 holes been open, the flow to chamber 2 top baskets will be limited, I'm guessing stuff like carbon etc will be okay in there and still do its job? Here's my awesome drawing.

Added a few coral; i'll add the names into the first post. Here's a picture. (ALGAE WARNING). Also i could do with an ID on the mushroom as it came already stuck to the rock of the other coral. Will it bother the pulsing xenia?

Slight change, added some more wood and removed most of the back plant as i didn't like it much - need to find something more 'bushy' as this plant just shot up to freedom. Here's a quick close up and next to the other tank - taken on my phone that has a black ink screen due to me smashing it...

If you keep the ammonia level low, they should be okay depending on the fish though as some are more sensitive then others. Most of us in this hobby started out wrong, including myself :look:

Seems that fish is living life on the edge :lol:

Everyday until your ammonia levels stay at 0, so you'll need a testing kit :good:. I'd also cut back the feeding to pretty much next to nothing. Also never clean your filter out with tap water, use a bucket of tank water 8-)

Recently put a 240L upstairs, no problems yet :lol:. It's on a supporting wall, running across 3 joists. Like most said, there's no real answer - it's an expensive trial and error with the risk of danger :fun:. I did read that older houses are built better then newer ones though :unsure:.
