Nope, dont think so. My GF said it had a latin name and she thinks it began with 'C' and that they are cichlids (I must stop her going to the fish store :lol: ) Also these guys only have tiny mouths unlike the Leaf Fish

Can someone help me identify my new fish. I came home from work and my girlfriend had bought them (but she didnt ask what they were :S ) They are a brown speckled colour and have an odd shape, because they hardly have a tail. They remind me of puffer fish because the eyes are a little bulbous...

I've added a new piece of bogwood (it looks like a dead tree, very cool!) and broke up the yorkshire slate into three 'tiers'. I will post some more pictures later, and thanks for the nominations :wub:

Thanks impur I've had them about 3 months now and 'Clive' is Definitely alot darker than 'Barker' (and always has been). It is really cool to watch, but my Goby tried to interfere (what a mistake!), he got chased round the tank for about 10 minutes :lol: I always wondered what that noise...

I noticed that my Clown Loach were acting a bit strange this morning, they both had thier fins up and really stiff and they were circling each other. Every now and then they would dart at each other and have a sort of 'duel' with their mouths until one retreated. Are they fighting, flirting or...

Spent the last month or so redoing my tank. I've got rid of the plastic ornaments and replaced them with some Carved Rainbow Rock, Yorkshire Slate and Bogwood. My BGK has not been seen for the last 2 days! I've had a look inside the ornaments and caves he usually frequents but he's not there. Do BGK bury themselves in the substrate? As this is the only place I can think he has gone (or in the heater/filter box :X ) I just wondered if they are prone...

I've just noticed today that my male has a very swollen belly (I'm not over-feeding them) and he seems to have no balance. He will sometimes lay on the bottom of the tank and find it a struggle to swim up. If and when he does get up from the bottom, he has no balance and swims into things ie...

:o I have a pH of 8 and two clown loaches, I've only had them a fortnight and they seem fine, but would it be advisable to bring the pH down? If so, how do I do that?
