    Silver dollars would be compatible with tinfoil barbs, but they get too large for a 55. I think it would be crowded if you add them. One or two more SD's wouldn't hurt although I think you have enough. I have 4 SD's in a 45 and it's already quite a task keeping up with the huge amount of waste...

    food for optimum growth

    What should I feed silver dollars for optimum growth? I feed mine mostly spirulina discs and goldfish pellets and occasionally bloodworms and carrots. Is that enough? Also, I feed about 3 times a day, what they can eat in about 30 seconds.

    Aquaplus says it neutralizes heavy metals. Copper and lead and such are heavy metals aren't they? So I'm thinking the conditioner should take care of them.

    Is it alright to mix hot and cold water from the tap and then add a water conditioner like aquaplus during water changes? I heard there might be some nasty chemicals in hot water.

    silver dollar and piranhas

    I noticed that silver dollars have teeth in their lower jaws. It's barely there, but I can see that they're almost like piranhas. Of course silver dollar teeth and jaws aren't near as powerful as piranhas, but I think they're still pretty strong nonetheless. They have no problem eating those...
