I do mate, I'm in Grays if you know it? I run the exact same filter on my 180L.

I'd be careful mixing Gourami's and Guppies (especially Guppies) with a Betta. The Betta will destroy the Guppies, and may try and take some lumps out of the Gourami's.

To be honest, I wouldn't recommend getting a Sailfin Plec for a 125L, it would grow far too large for that tank.

Another vote for Eheim. I've had my 2213 running for 5 weeks on my 180L, and since set up I haven't heard a peep out of it. Even changing sponges was easy as anything (although I'm using a + with built in taps). Highly recommended.

Hi all. Got my new tank up and running with my Eheim 2213. At the moment I'm just using the spraybar to oxygenate and agitate the water. Will this be enough oxygen for them? It seems to be chucking out a fair amount, but I just wondered if people would recommend using an airstone as well. Thanks.

I feed mine once a day, and only what they'll eat in about 2-3 minutes. I like to vary there diet as well, usually every other day there fed bloodworm, brine shrimp or daphnia. Did try freeze dried Tubifex but they didn't seem to take to that.

Just trying to garner a general concensus from the board, but what is your preferred cycling method? Admittedly this is my first 'new' tank, but I must say I'm erring on the side of cycling with fish. Thoughts?

:unsure: LOL. I did just that, emptied the water and then refilled (I thought carefully) and yet it's still the same. I think it's best that I just leave it alone to be honest. How long does the 'crap' normally take to settle?

Hi all. Got my new tank in position today (160L). And my new Eheim 2213 Plus filter turned up today as well. I've been told that I could possibly use the media from my old tank (Juwel Rekord 60L). I tried to put some of the spare sponges I have into the Eheim, and I'd say there about 10-15%...

:rolleyes: Oh well, hopefully I wont have to give them a call. I was thinking, as I heard they're pretty universal in which sponges they can take, could I put the sponges (full of bacteria) from my Juwel filter into that, and speed up the cycling process? Or have I completely misread...

Thanks for the quick reply. I've seen the 2213 Plus which will handle up to 250L (my tank is 160) for ~£50. I've read that it comes with inline taps which make it easier when cleaning, plus it's supplied with media. :good:

Anyone have any experience of these? I've seen the 2213 Plus pretty cheap which would be ideal for my new size tank, but just wondered if there cheap for a reason. Cheers

My old tank is a 60L Juwel, with an internal filter. I need to buy myself a new filter. Do you mean just drop the old sponges in the new tank? Sorry for such newbie questions, but I haven't been keeping fish long (3 months).

Nope, the old tank will be going once I get this one set-up, problem is the only place I have to put it, is where the 60L one is now. :blink:
