No, no cotton wool there. They look like he has bad acne forming under the skin then they burst through. Could be a parasite, but after it bursts through it gets covered again and is slightly smaller. I don't see anything moving underneath so I don't know what to make of it. The recovered...

I name only the ones that I can tell apart. Right now 7 bettas are: Motorcycle(my 5yo named it),After the Rain('cuz he looks like a rainbow),Purple Haze, Yoshi, Blizzard, Exotic(my 13yo)and Duke(my 12 yo). The goldfish are: Speckle, Fizz and Black Eyed Pea. My Pleco is Rico. :D

Thanks for your reply. My first brood is about 3 months now. They don't look like Dad at all but then again I don't think he is their dad. I think she was Pregnant from another they were in the same tank with when I bought my pair. Sorry you didn't get a boy. Maybe next time.

My female guppy, Lucy, I believe was pregnant when I bought her (though, she didn't show yet). She's had 3 broods since. Given her pattern of birthing every 25 days I expected another brood soon, but alas she appears not pregnant at all let alone ready to *pop*. Could the babies be from a male...

Yes, it's nice to use the two terms correctly but who's grading us anyway?! (OK besides me-JK) My personal favorite among all mentioned would have to be fishies used for all :D .

Thanks for the reassurance, folks. I moved him in this morning. My fry hang out midwater or top. He's a pretty laid back fish so I won't expect any trouble :D

I stand by this definition: Fish: plural of one species. Fishes: plural of many species. I distinctly recall learning that in school. And as I'm a stickler for grammar and proper use of terms, I remembered it quite well. I have a very hard time with those that say they "could care less"...

I want to move my 3 inch pleco out of my goldfish tank and into my guppy fry tank. It has 3 generations of fry and 5 hetts. Will the pleco eat my smaller fry or is it ok to move him in? TIA

If it's true that the smarter a dog is the harder it is to train then I must have a canine genius in my midst! I have a pit bull/shar pei mix that is just gorgeous but he's willful and I swear plays dumb to oscar proportions. Any ideas on how to train this beast? My biggest problem with him...

Sorry it took a while to get back in this section and say thanks to all for welcoming me. I've read that goldfish shouldn't be kept with the pleco on here a few times. I'm gonna move him to my guppy tank.

OK Fish is used when you are refering to plural fish of the same species. As in " There are a lot of fish in that tank" and the tank has only goldfish or only angelfish,etc. Fishes is used when refering to many fish of defferent species as in "There are alot of fishes in the sea" Hope that...

;) Well, I guess she's pretty young then. I move her out of her tank and into a small tank with an air stone and plants that float and plants on the bottom. I'm pretty sure she doesn't eat them so maybe she just hasn't started her big broods yet.

:dunno: I don't know what species, but he's got black spots allover and little horns on his head in front of his eyes. He's also got what appears to be small whiskers on either side of his mouth. He's 3 inches or so in lenght. I'm not sure of gender (wouldn't know how to tell) but I hope...

:D OK I feel better now. I'm going to experiment with the lights and mirrors to see if it changes there routine at all.

I have 7 bettas (ok-not ALL are mine) and they all build bubble nests but not all the time. Do they only build bubble nests when they are happy? :dunno:
