That's normal for fish to hide in a corner together when you first get them. Give them about a week or so to get acclimated with the tank. I don't know what the white things on your plant are. They might be a fungus.
I'm getting pretty discouraged now. I just tested the water and the nitrite and ammonia both showed up 0 ppm. I wish someone had the answer to my problem!
I'm thinking about getting two platies, a male and female so the can reproduce. My question is: Can I buy 2 that are a different color and still breed them?
P.S. I'm getting a small 5 gal to put these guys in.
Clown loaches will probably only reach 6" in a 55 gal. They can get to a foot, but they will only grow with the size of the tank. So 6" probably at the most. I think six of em will be too much for the bottom, oyu may want to only go with 3 or 4.
I already got fish in this tank. There has been fish in here since December. Also my dad suggested that I take all the fish out and put them in a different aquarium and take all the water out and clean the gravel and plants up really good. also along with cleaning my filter out as well. If I did...
I finally got rid of 6 of my guppies and my glowlight tetras. I just want to know what else to put in there or if I should just leave it like it is. INFO PLEASE!
My water is still cloudy in my 20 gal. It doesn't seem to be clearing up as it has been like this for a month or so now. I just want some more help. All tests came out 0, which is good but still cloudy. :dunno:
My albino rainbow shark in my 29-gal has not been eating since I got him which was about a month ago. Tonight I put him in a breeding trap and dropped aquadine(pellet type food) in there. I left him in there for about a half an hour. He didn't go for any of the food! I dunno what to do.
P.S. he...
Hey cheese specialist my fish are all healthy! and you may want to look at my sig again...the albino rainbow shark and the red tail shark are in different tanks. All my fish get along fine at the moment. I'll do something when a problem arises!
P.S. Red-Tail sharks only get 4.5 in. Rainbows get...
Start with freshwater first! You can learn from mistakes with freshwater fish. You don't want to spend the price for marine fish and have them die do you?? I would go with the Aqua Clear 300. It is a great filter! I have Aqua Clears in both my tanks and the work great! Corner tanks are great and...
Turn the heater all the way down! Once the temp gets to where you want it turn the knob very slighty until the pilot light comes on. Check it in about 2 hours after this. If it is still too low turn it up again a notch. Hope this helps!
OK! The shark is the columbian shark. My dad and I have talked about upgradin to a 55 gal when the fish in the 29 gal get bigger. I probably will get rid of the albino shark. I would like to stay on my topic tho. Why isn't the red-tail shark's tail red???? :dunno:
What you got is a bacterial/fungus problem. I would get it treated right away. It prolly won't hurt the fish, but go to your fish store and get medication that treats eye clout. You can also find out more about this disease by going to yahoo and searching for tropical fish eye diseases. Hope...
KEEP THE FISH!!!! They will be fine in there. You have to watch out for bacterial infections in the guppies tho, but you shouldn't have a problem. KEEP EM!!!!!
The red-tail shark is eating and very active. I have 7 plants and a cave. She always hides out in the cave. I plan to move her to my 29-gal if she becomes aggressive. If I do that I will get rid of some of my fish in the 29-gal. Right now the red-tail shark seems to enjoy the guppies company...
I wanted to know if German Rams would be alright with the fish in my 20 gal. They are beautiful and I've wanted to buy a pair every time I see them in the store! I've heard that they are peaceful and also aggressive. Fill me in with some info!
These fish would be fine together. You will have a lot of babies tho!!! I wouldn't buy an algae eater just get a pleco. Algae eaters become aggressive as they age. They will start to go after the fish's eyes! You don't want that! Just go with a pleco. Clown pleco are great. They only get 4 in...
I am thinking about getting a male and female powder blue gourami for my 20 gal listed below. Let me know if they will be compatible with the fish in my 20 gal. I might just buy one too. Let me know what you think.
I've have a master test kit and I test about every 2 weeks n the water shows up fine on the ammonia, nitrite, and ph level. The tank is been up since December 15 or somethin like that date.
I've never heard of this before! But one thing to remember after birth, do not put the mother in the main tank right after she gives birth. Put her in a tank to 24-48 hours so she can get some rest! She may have been tormented by other fish in your tank!! :/
I put my fry in my 20 gal when they were about a month old. But i had other fish in there besides guppies. They were fine with the other fish. One tip tho is to put a net or something else over the filter siphon tube. I had one on there n decided that they were big enough that they didn't need...
Three weeks ago I did a very small gravel siphon. My water is always cloudy for about four hours then it clears up. Well this time it didn't. I let it go for a few days, then took out a bucket of water. I replaced the water with crystal clear water. That didn't help so I decided to change my...
My Red-Tail shark's tail was red when I bought her. I've had her for about a month n her tail has never turned solid red... :dunno: Can anyone help me out!!??
