    Eheim 3535 surface suction extractor

I an using one on my Eheim 2217. good buy, not realy a protein skimmer in the marine sense. What it does do is remove floating dust a particles from the top surface, making the water clearer. I have found it also cleans up the small bits of flak food left hanging in the water. Be aware it...

    Cycle products

I agree with Gixer I have just cycled my first tank, tried all the supposedly wonderful additives ( cycle, Bactalife, Ect) IMO I found they did not make much difference, still had ammoinia and high Nitrites. In the end i gave up and did regular water changes and just let thing happen naturally...

    Which water analysis kit?

I have used both Tetra and Nutrafin. both seem to work well. The only thing I found being a newbie is that although the Nutrafin are supposed be be more sensitive they remain clear if no chemical present (ammonina, Nitrite). This I found a little confusing when trying to learn the chemical...

    Advice please

I never got an Ammoina reading from my Tetra test during cycling. But i did get a Nitrite spike. if i understand this process you may miss the Ammoina as it can dissipate within a couple of hours, Nitrite takes much longer?

    AQUARIUM STAND

Try building your own. At least you can get what you want. I have built two now with no problems, out of veneered MDF. Nothing to difficult, but supported all round, I am no cabinet maker but the ones i have seen along with prices are a joke for painted metal or plastic coated chipboard.
