So, I think I understand what everyon is saying. No betta or angelfish with the barbs. Would a guaurami work better? Correction on the inventory - two tiger barbs, three platties, two algae eaters, and one adult male guppy in about a week.

Well, I have a batch that are 4 weeks old, not much color yet, though some had black tails after about a week. Also hard to tell which are males/females. The biggest one is about 1/2 inch long now. Fun to watch them grow.

Update on sick fishies: just lost guppy #2. Only one beautiful red one left. He seems uninfected. Hope he survives. These two that died were new ones. I'm guessing whatever they had came with them when I got them. Don't have room for a quarantine tank. How often do I add salt?

I have read in several places about feeding daphnia/brine shrimp to guppy fry. Is it live? Freeze-dried? Where do you find live ones?

Well...got some salt and just added it. Dissolved it in some tank water and added it slowly with a syringe into where the filter empties into the tank. BUT...now the one that was clear this morning now has cottony looking spots - different than before - and half of his beautiful tail is gone...

Found this forum and read what to do for ich. Have 5 gallon tank with two male guppies. One already died. Turned temp up, did 20% water change, treated with malachite green/formalin. Removed charcoal from filter and removed biowheel. Any other suggestions?
