I think you should try to get somebody to check up on the tank once each week at the very least. I have no experience with auto-feeders, but it doesn't sound like they are reliable. Fish can go for a long period of time without food, but if I were you, I would definitely want somebody to check...

Bolivian rams won't bother the plants, they don't even so much as nibble on any of my plants. I don't have experience with Kribs to give advice there but I have seen them in many planted tanks, so I would make a guess that they wouldn't uproot anything.

I just wanted to point out that hopefully you're using something without any lotions or chemicals on it (I would think those kleenex with the lotion would be dangerous if they were touching the water). I usually use plain paper towel for anything near the tank water.
