    Sick Fighter?

If you can go to a LFS and get your water tested, that would really help. Make sure they write down the exact results in ppm. A test-kit is almost as essential as the water in the tank, so please consider purchasing one in the near future. I had a betta in my community tank that dine fine with...

    Purple Spotted Gudgeon

Oh, I agree. All good on the gudgeon front though, the separation has eliminated any aggression, so there you go!

    Purple Spotted Gudgeon

100%. I wish I had a good enough camera to show you. Snakeheads are illegal here, so I think the price I paid for the gudgeon would not cover an illegal import!!

    Mandarin Dragonet

You really should have the 'fuge set up and running for a while with some Chaeto. How long has the tank been running?

    Purple Spotted Gudgeon

Just an update for anyone thinking about trying this combination: Both fish are in the 2ft tank happily, eating well- have been for about 72 hours with little to no harrassment. Hopefully this combination will work well long-term!

    Purple Spotted Gudgeon

Just purchased a v. large Golden Gourami. She is currently in the main tank, but I have moved Spot into a spare QT, to 'reset' the territories. Will have to see how we go!

Can Longfin Bn And Common Bn Crossbreed?

I was wondering this exact thing. You may do. I assume that the longer fins are recessive genes, so I would expect 2nd gen to exhibit 'longfinned' characteristics.

    Purple Spotted Gudgeon

I might try a larger gourami. I had an angelfish in there with her, but she harassed it to death! Perhaps I have a rogue gudgeon  The one that was bigger than her lasted the longest. I had a mouth almighty in there with her, but he had a bad batch of worms and passed away :( I can't...

    Purple Spotted Gudgeon

I have a female Purple Spotted Gudgeon, who is about 15cms, alone in a 100L tank. Is there anything else that could go in there peacefully with her? She has killed x3 of her [attempted] boyfriends. She eyes off the tetras in the 3ft next to her tank :fish: :shifty: Any ideas/suggestions?
