from my understanding a dither fish is any type of social fish that basically fill the void or "dither" your tank to coax out your shy fish out of hiding, i've seen this term used a lot with cichlids especially the blood parrot

I would try a less toxic way first.. I google bug bomb and fleas and from what i read people don't have a 100% success rate with bug bombs killing of fleas anyways.

I made the mistake of purchasing those plants in the tubes at petsmart and none of them ever survive. I actually found out that PetCo keeps a good collection of plants in tanks, i'm probably gonna go check that out this weekend

i don't see why using buffing out the scrachtes with toothpaste wouldn't work on acrylic, it works on cds, and i think theyre about the same texture. I'll have to try it out on my older tank and see if it works when i get home.

I only gravel vac my tank w/o substrate. My tank with substrate i run the vacuum over the gravel just to pick up any waste. But i do both once a week.

i've read that substrate doesn't really need to be cleaned like regular gravel does. just running the vacuum over the plants covering it should pick up any waste that hits the ground. that's what i've been doing with my tank anyone else?
