Nah the plant food doesnt ive been using it long before the fish were in, i tried the torch thing and i cant see any salt like specs or anything out of the odinary, do you think the fish could be scrathcing just because they are itchy?

No exess slime, Gills seem fine and a normal color I use florish liquid fertilizer the brand is seachem, i last used the ferts on sunday, do you think that could be it? i usually fert the plants twice a week. no other meds have been added thanks for the reply wilder.

Hmm i hope they become good parents, my mate who got a tank at the same time as me has a breeding pair of angles just by luck of buying one female and one male, but with 2 spawns the male has eaten the eggs on both occasions.

Did you say the power outages were only for a few seconds?? your power can go out for a couple of hours at one time and you fish and bacteria will be fine, no need to recycle your tank. How long has your tank been running??

AHHH i see the light now... That makes now the world of sence. When i was cycling and had no knowlage of what KH was i had 0. I have two very large pieces of bogwood in my tank. I have a bag of premium grade carbon which gets rid off all the tannins in the tank. With my second piece of bogwood i took it home, washed it off for a bit then added it that day, with no tannin release thanks to the carbon.
