Hi, its a 250l tank. occies are very terratorial and chase them out of their space, hopefully the multis will settle in their shellbed i created for them. yeah need alot more roack work round the back before putting dickfieldi in. i was thinking of a male and female aswell. Thanks Darren

well, got my tank kind of setup no dickfeildi in at the moment until i get the right rocks, so only temporary rocks in there at the moment just 6 multis, 3 occies, lots of MTS and 2 bristlenoses #42###

just about to set mine up, going to order 6 multis to begin with, then juli dickfieldi, and perhaps some cyps for the open water :) got all the tank ready, 72 shells should arrive anytime now (250l tank)

i clean the tank once a month if that, everyting seems to take care of itself, the java moss odes absorb alot of the nitrates, the water stats are always superb ;) if you look at the first pic in the thread, youll see how it started off and how it progressed from there! getting rid of it all...

i paid £20 for the wood alone and theres a substantial amount of java moss covering it. the dimensions of the wood are just over 2ft by 1.5ft high by around 1ft in depth, and its covered in good quality java moss thanks Darren

that is a great looking tank! make sure you have some very good algae control in there or your lovely bright rocks will turn green and dark!

Well a couple of months since i posted my last pic, java moss taking over due to lack of trimming. im looking to get rid of the moss wood in the centre, not sur what it would fetch? any ideas? there is so much god quality java moss, im tempted to trim it into sections and sell it separately...

Well my rena smartheater packed in a few days ago, tank water was around 19-20 degrees, was really worried that the fish and shrimp would die, ordered a new heater from Warehouse Aquatics, superb service and very fast delivery! highly recommended! back up to its optimal 25-26 without any losses

nice high tank! ive had a juwel and a while and it was ok, but switched to a Rena after it gave up, no comparison with regard to build quality

thanks! ive got the spray bar maybe 70degrees to give the ripples and aerate the tank more as i took the airpump out. Ideally i wouldnt have one and have a nozzle with a diverter pointing upwards for pure aesthetic reasons. Swapped all the heater, and piping to behind the vallis as it clogged...

for smaller fish, platy size and under,a quick flick on the head kills them instantly more human than cutting, poisoning or freezing IMO

its been a while since updated my thread, the tank looks a little different now, Java moss and vallis have really taken hold, and started shaping them Added a shoal of 14 rummy nose tetras, and a shoal of 14 zebra danios, unfortunately lost my pearls very much sticking to the smaller fish...

that looks lovely, the vallis at the back against the black background work great, and the moss should fill out nicely on the wood good job!

Thanks for the comments guys, the large tank, lots of small shoaling fish is what im after, they all have tonnes of space and their own little communities, great to watch them shoaling/playing going to trim the underside of the java moss to tidy it up even more, and get some java fern to put...

the moss at the top which is sticking out of the water looks like a hedge, so no long bits just very bushy, it looks great, im after relocating it to further down the wood and wondered the best way to do it
