I would say some more neon tetra, to make a bigger group. Maybe some more different types of tetra? - there are lots of different ones (I'm a bit of a tetra fan :blush: )

I think the general rule with neons (as with most schooling fish) is they like a group of at least 6. Obviously more is better if your tank can take it, but 6 or 7 is the minimum recommended. Unfortunately, I started with 6, but lost one :( Haven't replaced with one, as my LFS won't sell...

Live plants - Is this for them to eat, live or hide in? Or for the organisms that live in it? I always imagined keeping plants to be quite involved, requiring careful control of light, fertiliser, CO2 etc. Is this not the case? - Can I just chuck some moss in and leave it to its own devices...

I put some tank water in a small dish with the frozen food (I cut bits off, as a whole cube is too much for 12 tetras!) and let it defrost. Then I spoon feed it a bit at a time.
