i have the outlet of my filter just below the water surface, it does disturb the surface but dont create to much bubbles if you know what i mean,(slight ripples), i had an airstone but was causing to much crap getting moved about in the water. many thanks.

whats best for filter performance? should i have both inlet and outlet at the same end of the tank or is it best to have one at each end(like the outlet at opposite end flowing towards inlet)? also how far off the bottom do you have the intake tube? thanks in advance
