I have mine with zebra danios, silver hatchets and a ruby tailed shark. They all get on fine, no probs. In fact, the SFF and shark share the same cave a lot of the time and seem quite happy with each other.

I've gone for the hatchet fish. Got four of them which takes me slightly over the inch rule, but they seem to have settled in straight away. And the danios seem to like them as well. They seem to be spending more time at the top of the tank and even school with the hatchets.

Thanks for that. Three of the remaining five have distinctly rounder bellies than the other two so I assume have three females, two males. Can't really see much difference in their sheen, could just be my dodgy eyesight though. K

OK, update already. After finishing my last post, I went to check on the tank and danio 3 (at the top of the tank) has died :sad: Now the two that were hiding have come out and the remaining five are schooling again. Just carried out another water test and all is OK. All a bit wierd :-(
