Just being careful here I bought some Potassium sulphate at the garden store and it says Sulphate of potash, 0-0-50. Is this what i am looking for? It also says Guarantee minimum analysis.....Soluble Potash (k20) 50% What might make up the other 50% of the product Just trying not to hurt...

Should I use 1/2 tsp of K2SO4 3x a week as suggested in the pinned article on ei dosing or should I be adding more?

Is all K2SO4 created equal? I was going to order some from Greg Watson, but the takes awhile as earlier suggested I might be able to buy some at the plant shop, but I am a bit afraid that something else might be add that isn't mentioned on the box.....Possible or not really a founded worry.

Nitrates are usually about 30ppm or higher (according to the kit) Phosphates are always high (thought it might be the kit, but my tap water measured 0 The biggest fish are 2 /4" loaches. The rest are tetras and barbs...although I did have a ton of messy snails in the tank until the loaches...

Generally yes, but as I understand it CO2 lowers the ph, but doesn't effect the gh. Can't explain it but I do remember reading the reason about it on this forum. Good luck, the best thing I ever did was add co2. Went from plant killer to plant clipper. Still far from expert though, but it is fun

Thanks once again....I will try that. The plants seem fine althought I don't have any fancy plants as of yet...I am perfectly happy with weeds for now. It's nice to see something grow for once and not die. Also I have very little algea which I was the master of growing previously. Yaaah

I realize the ei method is meant to dose everything at slight excess...My question is my phosphates are over 5 ppm (as high as the test kit goes) should I still continue dosing the potassium phosphate or should I skip it and just add the potassium nitrate. The tank is full of snails and I must...
