I've heard that livebreeders can hold on to the fry longer and even absorb them if the water conditions aren't right or if they are stressed. I'd test the water, and maybe release them back into the big tank to try to reduce stress, and keep an eye on them.

Yeah, I had never seen that before either. I took that video soon after I got them. I think it might have been a combo of stress from being moved and maybe I was using a different food than the LFS. But they are now pooping normal. :)

OK good, so the males should be OK in the bachelor pad for a few weeks. I tested the water in both tanks and the pH in the 10 gal is a bit lower than the 55 gal. I've got a 6.5 and a 7, should I adjust before I start switching fish around?

I was wondering when the best time to test the water was. Before, between or after a water change. I've tested at several different times and have gotten basicly the same results. If I test after a water change, I've waited a few hours. I do a 10-20% water change once a week. Thanks.

I had the same problem last week, I put the Phos-X in and the Phosphates went way down and now no more algae!!!!! There are other brands on the market for this too. They are just little bags that you put in your filter.

What is the best way to set up a hospital tank? I would rather not have a empty tank sitting around waiting for someone to get sick. Is there a safe way of setting on up as needed? Could I take some gravel and water from the main tank and put it in the hospital tank? Thanks in advance!!!!

I got the test strips $10 for 25 of them, they test for pH, Hardness, Alkalinity, Nitrate, and nitrite, there is another one for Ammonia for $9.00. I used them a few times and had my friend retest with liquids and we got basicly the same results. I think it's much more convenient. If you need...

I have the same problem and was told it is because of high Phosphates. I have been using the water polisher that came with my filter (H.O.T. Magnum) and that clears it out, but it comes right back. I was told to use a phosphate remover, so I got Phos-X. But i can't fit it into my media...
