Hi Elsa, I am thinking of doing a divided tank myself but with non-see through material. I dont know if them seeing/flaring at each other is healthy for 'em. perhaps more plants grown near the divider would help?

That is a very cute girl you have there. I am concerned about her belly though. It looks like she might be constipated or overfed or have a bloat problem. I would fast her for a couple of days then feed her some smushed peas to help her relieve herself if that is the problem.

The cheaper alternative would be to buy more females so they can develop a pecking order. I have heard 4 or more females may be ok but seems like the consensus on this board is 5. It is also better to buy female siblings raised together as they tend to be more harmonious. I agree with the...

What a scary scene! I woulda done the same thing though. Are you sure what you have are ghost shrimps? Haven't kept any myself with bettas, but I did read that some stores were selling prawns as shrimps, and the prawns do get quite large.
