Do you think I should go back to the spray bar? I have the j hook pointed at the corner of the tank over my co2 reactor...so not as much water agitation as with the spray bar. I'm leaving oxygen off tonight and will check ph levels in morning. Appreciate the advice.

Thanks for the reply, yes I do use a selinoid to shut off my Co2 at night....and run a small airstone duing night. My rose lined barbs weren't gasping at the surface, but could definitely tell they were "stressed" ......breathing very fast....and none of my other fish were having any issues...

You need to post all your "stats".....ie tank size, water test levels, lighting wpg, co2 levels or method, ect......someone on this forum can definitely help if you do that.

I have 2 flying foxes (sae's) in a 55 gall planted tank, and never had a problem with them getting aggresive....a few times they've "sparred" at each other...but that's about it.

I have 2 flying foxes and a red tail shark in a 55 gal for over a month, maybe 2, and no problems....the shark and flying foxes have never crossed paths...every now and then the foxes will tangle but nothing for me to have worried about yet....all seem pretty good together....

Back to the fertilizer question, I haven't started EI yet, but am dosing with Flourish comprehensive plant supplement.....says it has mirco elements but no macro elements....is this why my 55 gal, planted , 2.4 wpg, co2 pressurized, isn't pearling? Is there a good premixed EI I can buy at the LFS?

George, Thanks for the reply, the lights are a single tube coralife fixture, using the 65watt lights that it came with new, bubble rate probably 3-4 per second, kind of hard to count. I have a feeling from reading your replies it's might be a fert thing....I was afraid to increase my dosage...

Is it ok to use a gravel vac with "eco gravel"? I have a 55 gall planted fresh tank, and the eco plant gravel has some sand in it....will a gravel vac suck this substrate out? I'm ready to do a water change and wanted to vac at same time if good for the tank.

I've been reading some posts on taking out the carbon in your filter if you have live plants.....have an eheim 2217 canister filter and can't get the top off....unbuckled all the clips...stupid question....how do lift the top off....and will it spill water out if have the valves shut off????
