i have a 10g tank and i wouldnt dream of putting a 2-3" fish in there after its been heavily planted. i've recently set up a 7g tank for 1 dwarf puffer, so my personal opinion would be to go for 2 in a 10g :)

i personally dont like plecos, and dont see what is so appealing about them. i dont find them pleasing to the eye and they dont seem to do anything...but that is just my opinion of course, and i understand other might have different views.

i did think i came on here far too much but i've been a good girl lately :look: i dont really post that much anyway but then i dont want to be dishing out advice as i'm a complete novice myself. i normally just come on and have a good nosey

My tanks mature, but I still test the water once per week, and its a good job too. Only last week my Ammonia levels had risen to 0.5 :crazy:

My next mission is my Dwarf Puffer tank. I'm just waiting for my filter to arrive and then I can start cycling :D

I have sand with my cory's and they love digging in it. its quite cute actually :wub: I'm sure they pick sand up with their mouths and chuck it out through their gills. Either that or I need my eyesight checking :S

I tend to be happy with mine....for about a week, then i get bored and its time for another change around :lol:

I have some killis in a tank with neons and corys and they get along fine, although each species tends to occupy different levels of the tank so they don't really meet that much. If they do they just ignore eachother anyway. Temp is usually around 24 degrees.

Really? I didn't know that :( Strange though because I've kept UK pond snails in what I would guess would be the same water conditions (seeing as the water comes from the same source) when I was young, and they thrived...a bit too much! :lol:

I liked fishing when I was a teenager, especially for Perch, their fiesty :hyper: I prefer them to really big fish...its more interesting in my opinion.

I have both the 5 in 1 and API Master Test Kit and I would recommend you pay the extra and buy the API kit instead. The 5 in 1's ok, but some of the results are quite hard to read such as the Nitrite and Nitrate. Plus it doesn't have an Ammonia test.

By normal I meant: Ph - 6.6 Ammonia - 0 Nitrite - 0 Nitrate - 10 Water - <3 (soft) Temperature is approx 24 degrees celcius The snails just looked like UK pond snails to me. It doesn't matter now anyway, there arn't any snails left and I took the shrimp back on Saturday. :sad:
