    Giving Up

I could see exactly what you mean...I've had him for a while now, probably a year and a half and he's only ever shown a small sign of aggression and that was towards the two females i tried with him...i regularly watch the fish, probably too much lol, and i'm pretty sure he wouldn't have been to...

    Giving Up

As mentioned before he is a male yes...not aggressive at all, never bothered anything, his colours are so strong and he is grown well at just over 2 inches...only recently he's started hiding away and acting more nervous. No other fish bother him.

It is the tank but way back in last year when I had old nasty blue gravel etc. :good: Yeah the filter's about 5 months old now...plants and an airstone aerate the water!

    Giving Up

Does anybody else feel like giving up on keeping fish? I never will but can't see what I'm doing wrong and its so fustrating!! I do regular water changes at 30% a week, water tests, I have a more than adequete filter, airstone, and also quite heavily planted. All my fish seem to really dislike...

    Sluggish Kribs!

Yeah I aclimatised them, tanks well established over 2 years now...can't see any signs of disease as such, just sitting on the bottom and breathing quickly in a quite little hollow...I have provided plenty of caves and the tank is heavily planted anyway. Not sure how to go about treating him...

    Sluggish Kribs!

I introduced a pair of kribensis to my tank about a week ago...the female is doing fine, her colours really strong and she's eating well. However, the male has gone really sluggish a couple of days after introduction, sitting on the bottom in a quite part of the tank, not feeding or doing...

    Filter Stopped Working

My fluval 2 has stopped working, the impeller is working (spinning around) but there is only the tinyest amount of flow coming out. Its so annoying because I've rinsed pads, impeller, everything so its all clear in the bits I can get to, and Ive tried changing the angle of the output and also...

    Seachem Flourish Excel

Yeah no adding any other fertilisers at the moment....I have 30W of lighting which gives me about 2WPG and this is one for 9-10 hours a day.

    Seachem Flourish Excel

At the moment I only have CO2 for the plants, which are growing ok but not completely as well as I hope...I'm considering using Seachem Flourish Excel...can anyone give me any advice on using this and if it worked well? I have looked at others on aquaessentials.co.uk and this seems like the best...

    Wally's 60l Journal

It was on the HM, as well as other plants. It was really only the odd strand, after I removed it as much as possible it seems to be fine, not many problems. I have reorganised the fish too and have now 3 extra amano shrimp which have helped a great deal suprisingly along with the other three...

    Wally's 60l Journal

Damn algae has hit, its long strands which are really thin. I've tried to remove as much as I can. I think it might be as I've taken the cabomba out. I'll post a picture later, but I think I need to get more plants in there now, although I'm left with most of the substrate planted I need some...

    Blue Ram

Thanks Amber, I guess your right, I just really like him! I know thats a wrong reason to keep a fish but thats why I've tried! I think I have to accept he's not suitable, there's not really enough space in there in terms of length etc anyway! Hmmm

    Blue Ram

Introduced him two days ago and he seems fine! His colours have come out beautifully so all is good!

    Blue Ram

Thanks for the advice, the fish mentioned are the ones in the main tank for the moment, he has the quarantine tank to himself! I've had a huge reshuffle anyway so could reintroduce him and see how it goes?

    Blue Ram

I have a blue ram currently in a quarantine tank for a couple of days until I decide what to do...its a beautiful fish but just sometimes very aggresive towards my other fish...is there any thing I can do? My tank is 14 gallons and currently holds three ottos, two platies, one small bristlenose...

    Wally's 60l Journal

Yeah the HM is growing really really well....only problem is some of it gets uprooted (by the cory's playing probably). I try to replant it but there are some bits which just won't establish! Any tips?

Thanks Dave, Would that be 50% changes every week, or two weeks? or in between lol! Yeah, the HM's growing in really well, pleased with it and still no algae! The back left of the tank is growing nicely too so hopfully I can take the cabomba out in a few weeks!

    Wally's 60l Journal

That would be a good idea, think I can get hold of the connectors. That is the new filter and lighting, the new filter is very good and the lighting looks brilliant, although it didn't show up well on the photo. The plants are growing really well, no algae or other problems as of yet...can't...
