mine goes nuts if i put a mirror next to his tank, he even flares when i wear a hat!!

i was hoping the answer was not to put anything else with him, i think he does prefer to be on his own. thankyou for all the ideas, i will deffiantly give them ago and see how he reacts :) cheers

i have a beautiful red and purple betta, he was in my main tank until he started fin nipping everything in sight. so hes now in a 1 gallon tank on his own. i think hes lonely, he seems bored in his tank until he sees me, when he gets all excited. is there anything i can do to stimulate him more...

when i was in singapore and then japan, i visited a pet shop and their bettas all came in those little tiny bagschucked from one place to another, and were all sold that way as well. they were most commonly their sold in a small vase with a flower in :( its so sad and heart breaking to see them...

some really good pics there, really impressed. i used to do art A level, got a C cos i was lazy :( , i was fairly good at using bright colours but ive never tried drawing fish. i will have to have ago.

so sorry to hear that :( its gutting cos you cant do anything to them either to stop it. we lost about 30 fish including shebunkins, fantails, comets, orfs, red cap arandas etc, and most of my frogs id raised from tadpoles :( only 2 fish were left. hope your pond recovers!!

i know thats what i thought. ive tryed all the types of bloodworms i can buy. i just hope he gets over it before he gets ill again :(

my betta has got over white spot and now hes stopped eating, he wont eat anything. ive tryed 2 different types of flake, guppy fry that are in my tank, tubifex, dried and frozen bloodworms. i cant get hold of any live food as its the wrong time of year. i have no idea what else to try, does...

i live in north wales, trust me there are snails in the water here. you cant drink it or you'll probably end up in hospital, as theres a bug called cryprosparidium in it. has even been in the news

i have a few snails in my tank but it wasnt down to the plants, at first i ddint have any plants and snails started appearing. after doing a few experiments it turns out there in the tap water :S there wasnt any other explanation. i dont know if its just this area or anywhere else??

ahh now hes come out more the lump is actually on his fin, it doesnt look like a cauliflower. um working it out my tank is 5.5 gallons

i have treated the tank and have to add the second part in 2moz, i will turn the temperature up higher. i have guppies, neon tetra, corydoras and of course my betta.

yeah its like grains of salt on him, they keep coming and going. he had white spot first, and over the past couple of days hes been rubbing himself on the side of my tank and on anything he can. the abcess is like a white round mark slightly raised behind his fin. every so often he'll stop...
