Well after a week or so and little change, he finally died yesterday :rip: :sad: Just need to get a replacement so my glass is kept clean.

I only changed 1 blue sponge. I know he's eating as yesterday i managed to drop a plec wafer just in front of his nose, he moved forward a bit and covered it for safe keeping.

One bit of bogwood is in the tank which is normally his second home. Its now slowly getting covered in algae

Its the standard Juwel 'black box in the corner' system. The plec was not too happy before the filter was changed.

Tank has been set up and running for 18 months The only other bottom dwellers are the 2 clown loaches. As already mentioned, the plec is normally king of the tanka nd no one gives him a hard time. Don't know why i have traces of Amonia, I did carry out a 25% water change a day or 2 ago and...

I've ordered some fin rot medicine and i guess it won't harm putting it in the tank. My first thoughts were the clown loaches getting peckish, i'll keep my eyes peeled :look:

Is it contagious ? Best get some fish medicine and do a water change or 2

I've got a butternut squash in the fridge at the moment which probably should have been eaten by now, perhaps i'll cut a slice off later and see if any of my fish take a liking to it. Is it just a case of putting it in raw, or does it need par cooking ?

After having 2 clown loaches for a couple of months i finally heard them clicking away whilst trying to eat a plec wafer. Didn't appreciate how much noise can come from such a small fish. Just out of interest, how and why do they click.

I gave my Clown Loaches frozen blood worms for the first time last week and it was the 1st time they looked at home.

I doon't know what it is, i'll take a picture and post it up in the next few days.

OK just as an update, my 2 plecs seemed to have settled down :good: The gold spot is not chasing the other around as much and the scales on the 'large' one seem to be returning to there former glory rather than looking like he has been rubbed with sand paper :D Happy families once again.

Tried peas but all the healthy barbs got to them 1st, have decided to put it out of its misery :(

Mine are quite happy eating Plec Wafers :)

Used to feed twice a day, but have reduced to once as i seemed to get a lot of bits floting in the water.

What is deemed to be a high pH ?? When i added fish to my tank yesterday mine was approx 8.0 ? am i likely to have a few fish to remove when i get home ?
