    Worms!

I bought a 29gal. from someone that didn't want it anymore. They had angels in there. I set it up and was letting it cycle when I started to see worms floating in the tank. I took one out and placed it on a piece of paper and it was about 1 inch in length, round and reddish brown. Round worms...

    Fishless Cycle

I have a 10 gal. that I set up three weeks ago that has been cycling. I use pure ammoina, got the reading up to 5 ppm until the nitrites showed and then spiked the ammoina to 2 ppm. The problem that I am having is that the nitrites is at 2 ppm and hasn't moved. The ammonia is being processed in...

Flicking Off Items, No White Spots

This is what I do when I see "Flashing". I ck the water prams. Ph most of all. If all is good there than I use Tank Buddies Parisite Clear. Has worked for me when my tetra's and Gourami's flashed. No need to raise temp. Helps to prevent secondary infection and doesn't harm bio-filter. Helps...

    Bloated, Swollen, Dying Gouramis

I thought that using anything but epison salt would make things worse. Regular salt is not recommened for use with bloating. Only Epison Salt. This could be a internal parisite also. So I would look into this. It also could be a bacterial infection as stated. I would treat for both.

    Dwarf Gourami: Nuts?

NO2 5 and going from 7.2 ph to 6.4 ph. Wilder was right ph shock. And as the No2 is high that makes matters worse. You need to get the water prams. under control. What about the Nitrites? I would do as stated and change the water a bit at a time.

    Mixing Dwarf Gouramis

IMO, just make sure the tank is well estabilished. Dwarf grouamis are terrtorial and will disput with each other and sometimes will kill each other. They will stake out their own and will chase out others. I have two,one red and one blue, in a 46 gal. and they give chase to one another so be...

    Dwarf Gourami: Nuts?

-_- Why he was swimming aroung like that really is odd because Gourami's tend to be shy and hide alot when first put into the tank. But sounds like he is doing better so that is great. I have had Danio's that did that also but could never find a reason why. :/ Very odd. I was going to agree...

How Long To Continue Treatment Of Ich After White Spots Are Gone?

It is recommened to treat ich for 21 days total. Just because the spots are gone only means that they are in the cyst stage, they are on the bottom of the tank. They will hatch into the free swimming stage or tomite, it is at this stage and only at this stage that meds and salt are effective...

    Question On Bio-spira

If the filter media was without a food sorce and oxygen the you can be pretty sure the bacteria was dead. The bio-spira works very well. I know that for sure after trashing my bio-filter with Malichite Green. I used that stuff and it worked in about three days. :good:

    Filter Not Running Very Good

When you take the impellar out, there is a metal peice that is at the end of the impellar. You have to scrap that with something like a butter knife or something to get the growth off that part in order for it to work properly. The motor acts like a generator that causes a magntic effect which...

    New Tank - Please Help

:( just a note...if you don't want to do a fishless cycle then the rule of thunb for a fish cycle is 1 fish for every 5 gal. of water.
