I've been reading this thread right through. Why would you come ask questions and not take the advise? Finding something to put your betta in isn't hard. If you go to walmart you can get sterlite 1-2 gallon containers for $1.00.. :/

I kept 4 females in a well planted 10 gallon. Here's what I learned, they can be just as aggressive as the males.Mine got along good for weeks and then all of sudden..three started to pick on my pastel female..I ended up removing her (she died anyway) and seperating all the others.

Would it even be possible to add another female to a tank with 4 betta females already in the tank? I would think it wouldn't work..wouldn't it upset the balance of the tank? Would I have to take all the other females out then reintroduce them again along with the new female? Just curious...

My 6 male bettas don't like a filter running at all. My females are in a planted 10 gallon and dont mind it a bit. I think it maybe all what the fish is used to.

I've used plastic contianers before. It works just fine.. We even use them for backup turtle setups.

You have to seperate them all. These fish sound really stressed out. You can't put a male betta in with females like that. And only have two females in the tank just isn't right.

I've never had a betta jump out But I have had an oscar jump out of his tank. After than I learned to weigh the hood down tight.

I've had to speak to people at Walmart before on the care of bettas . Actually it worked...the betta at our new Super walmart are kept in larger containers and not stacked on top of each other...
