You could try putting them in a different tank and treating them with antibacterial meds. Whenever I've gotten Dwarfs they always got the swollen belly and the meds fixed them right up.

Ok...so I've been running my tank on the biological filters alone and didn't realize the importance of mechanical filtration. Now my biofilter is covered in brown goop, and not running as smoothly. How do I get the goop out without cleaning off the bacteria too? Probably a stupid question, and...

The thing is...none of the fish in the tank now were affected by the ich...and so I'm pretty sure that ich is not in its free swimming stage...but in its dormant stage or just being carried by them so how could they be affected by the medication? And yeah..

I wouldn't treat fish that don't need it. Meds are really harsh on the fish.

They could still have ich. You might have just caught it before the spots appear.

I was very disappointed in you two. That is just an outright lie! The male might not rip the female to shreds, but its either that or the female could rip the male to shreds, as what happened to me when I first tried my hand at breeding. ;P

Water changes would dilute the medicine. Read the package and just follow the instructions. I would have recomended doing one huge water change before starting the meds. I've heard that keeping the lights off is better for some reason or another, so thats what I'm doing. Good luck! :/

I have an albino african clawed frog too in with my betta. They are awesome things. He's probably not getting enough food because of all the fish in the tank. I would maybe put him in something smaller so you can make sure he eats.

You can keep tiger barbs in a 5 gallon tank. If you read fish books and different fish websites nearly each and every one of them has different information on how to keep fish.

You added too many fish in too little time. Go buy a little kit at the lfs, they're 10 bucks. Also, what size is the tank? Also, did you do a water change after your cycle? If so what was the nitrate count?

:lol: Its pretty easy..all you need are snails and water, and before you know it you will have too many snails for your fish to eat. :P

I would worry about them being a little bit cramped, because they do get territorial. Hopefully it'll work out. Good luck :)
