I wish I had that confidence. I test everyweek, my tests have shown the same results since about 1 month after setting up my tank.

Don't use glue. My first ever tank came with a filter that was pre-glued......... It broke after a month. It was not an easy task removing it to put in a new filter, and you certainly don't want to be doing that in an emergency. You may also want to move it at some point.

Agree, my tap water reads 7 out the tap and 8 a day later. So its worth waiting before you test. If it reads 7 after a day then I would guess something in your tank is altering the PH. In which case do as Colin suggests.
