I love my pea puffer! I've got him in a 9 gallon cube tank with 6 chili rasbora's and a few cherry shrimp and he is living his best life! As for the snails, get a handful of ramshorn snails and give it a couple weeks, you'll have plenty of live food for your puffer

The light is not completely turned off, just dialed back a bit in some of the color spectrum's. As far as Excel goes, to each their own, but it works for me and I guarantee my fish are treated with just as much care and are just as healthy as any I've seen.

I had a decent breakout of BBA a few weeks ago. I cut back the light during the day (basically set the light to reduce for about two hours mid-day) and I started using Excel when I do larger water changes...seems to be helping quite a bit

I wouldn't say he is peaceful...he just makes sure any fish around him gets out of his way. He doesn't chase any of my other fish...again, unless they are in his path and they quickly just move away. I nicknamed him "Grump" because of the way his eyes make him look pissed off all the time.

I've had one since I first started my tank journey...he's always done well as he transitioned from one tank, to another and to his home in the 40G breeder.

Waiting for the LFS to open to get a new plant or two and hopefully find a rock for my 10-gallon column tank. Then it's Super Bowl time and trying to forget about the full day of work looming on Monday.

Today was all about the boys...one to his theatre company auditions for next year and the other a wrestling tournament. Dinner after with the family at an overpriced Longhorn, but quality time nonetheless. Now it's time for this old man to nerd a little on some video games.

Are we talking about a pea puffer? Mine is super picky...I've provided him frozen blood worms and frozen brine shrimp...he may graze on it after it hits the sand but I've never seen him eat it. Now, he CRUSHES ramshorn snails.

My tanks are full of spider wood, I love the way it looks. The molting phase is actually kind of cool as well.

Mine is a multi-year event apparently. I replaced our hot water heater in 2021, our main level entire heating/cooling system in 2022 and now starting off the year strong with more issues! I have to laugh to keep from crying lol

Sounds like 2023 is starting off patchy for a lot of people. My washer went out...ordered a new washer/dryer set...guys came and installed this morning, said let it run a cycle and then you can use it. We did so...seemed fine, put a load in...went up 30 minutes later to check it and water all...
