Finishing my new article about wild traits in fancy livebearers. And January 19th is the deadline,. So, I'm in time. And I'm really glad I did. For this morning I got a call from the hospital. My surgery is due this coming Friday.

Been up since 5:30am...got a lot of yard work accomplished and now watching the movie, "The Menu" with one of the boys.

I took apart my Marineland 200 filter housing and thoroughly cleaned it including the inlet tube. It was way overdue...lots of gunk in the bottom of the housing and impeller area. I last did it about 3 months ago.

I clean the sponge in tank water and replace the filter floss every 3 weeks.
I need to clean the housing more often than once every 3 months.

Today I watched a squirrel outside in one of my trees. I got to watch him a long time and see how he climbs. He uses his tail in way more ways than I thought.

If you want I'll show you some of my larger ones in my collection. I have a lot. Some loose large ones, others in a frame, and more in jars/bags...
But my bigger ones are just in the frame.
Then all the tiny-medium ones are in the "cluster packs"

Today I watched a squirrel outside in one of my trees. I got to watch him a long time and see how he climbs. He uses his tail in way more ways than I thought.

I love watching the squirrels... We have a group of black squirrels around here and we love watching them
They kinda look like wild ferrets at first glance
