I started this tank on Monday July 4th. its a 20gal that is live planted with a bubble wall across the back side. currently have 5 very active zebra danios with plans to add some tetras and a few panda Cory after the cycle has completed. can’t see to well through it with the bloom going on...

Yea my goal is maybe within six months to a year to give it a try. Been doing a lot of research already but won’t to feel more confident with freshwater before I go towards salt since there is more to it

Yea but really trying to do my best this go around, my ultimate goal is to beat a salt tank going

I know but right now I’m paranoid lol every more so because my bloom is happening but its already starting to clear up nicely and my fish haven’t shown any difference in how they have been acting

I wont lie I have done that before and lost the tank, was only going to a local chair store and they didn’t offer a lot of advice, then made a new friend who has been keeping fish for 20+ years who helped alto plus also moved to a better shop with more knowledgeable staff who don’t try to rush...

Yea this is something I’ve been after for quite sometime and not looking to hurt/kill fish so I look into stuff quite a bit before jumping Into anything I do

That’s why I’ve been doing multiple water checks per day. At this point the lvls are all at zero and it has been about a day and a half maybe two days since I started. Also added bacteria to start and the tank is live planted. The people I talked to at the store are all aquarium hobbyist not...

thanks for the info, but I had already looked through all of that before buying my tank. When I went to get some additional supplies the person at my fish store is actually the one 3who told me about in fish cycling and talked to them for a good bit before deciding to go this route

So I haven’t done a water change yet wanted to wait a couple days to let it start up, but I’ve been doing 2-3 water checks daily and everything is staying lvl so far. Was gonna do my first water change tomorrow.

Hello all, new here to the forum as well as keeping fish. Always wanted them just never took the plunge, but recently I got a 20gal tank and currently cycling it with a few zebra danios in it before expanding it.
