Almost 0 nitrites? Nitrite needs to be zero. As @EllRog has said, remove the carbon as that will remove the medication you are putting in the tank

@alexandraprice take a look on youtube, there is a guy on there "Pimp my filter" who has upgraded a bioorb to become more effective. I, personally do not like them but each to there own. Good luck to you on your fish journey :)

1/4" holes seems VERY large. Thats a 6mm hole. I checked the holes in my spray bar and they are 2mm maximum
