Well this is what her fins looked like when I first got her 6 months ago. She had torn her fin a month after I got her which was my fault. I always kept the water clean but her fins have never looked the same since then. I check the ammonia and nitrates and nitrates every couple weeks...
I just took these pictures this morning. Her fins have been looking torn for a while. I’ve done daily water changes for a week and that hasn’t changed anything about her fins. She’s acting fine I just feel like her fins are starting to look worse.
Her fins really just look bad to me. They’ve darkened and it looks like they’re becoming smaller. I think she actually just had dropsy which is now better because of the epsom salt baths. I know dropsy is just a symptom of a disease. Let me know what you think.
with the epsom salt do I just put her in a separate container like a bucket or something with the salt in it? And then put her back in the tank? Or put it in the tank and do a water change?
That’s exactly what I was thinking. I got her at petco and they put them in those cups and I know they don’t take good care of them. I’ve always done water changes every week and checked the water for ammonia and all that. It’s so common so I definitely agree I feel like they’re genetically...
Thank you for replying. It’s so sad I really loved her and I’ve only had her for 6 months. I just feel like it’s my fault but I know the causes are mostly unknown.
So I’ve posted a thread about this a week ago. I thought it was bloating or constipation and I fasted her for three days and started feeding her less and it just seems like it’s gotten worse. She used to swim around so much and now she just kinda floats near the top. I’m scared it’s dropsy but...
No she’s definitely not egg bound lol but she really looks like she is. Yeah I’ll just fast for another day or two. She’s swimming around fine and everything she just really looks bloated but hopefully by fasting she gets better.
I feel like I’ve seen her skinnier than this. I think she might be constipated but I’m not sure. I tested my water everything’s fine. I fasted her for a day but I see like no change. I feed her four pellets a day during the week and frozen blood worms on the weekend. Please help thanks.
I’ve had my fish tank since August and I’ve been able to avoid getting a heater since I live in Florida. Now it’s going to start getting in the 50s and I really don’t want my water to get cold. I have a 5.5 gallon tank for my betta fish. What heater should I buy? I’m scared because a lot of...
You’re right sorry I’m new to this whole thing kinda. I’ve had my fish in the tank only since August 31st. I cycled my tank before I put my fish in. I’ve done a partial water change every week. My tank is 5.5 gallons. Like a month after I got my fish she tore her fin and then it healed...
Ok so I’ve been on here already because my betta fish has some tears in her fins and I’m trying to figure out why. But look at these pictures of before and after. That’s how her fins looked month ago and that’s how they look now. Like doesn’t that look like fin rot or something? They look like...
The tear I’m talking about is actually on the fin in the back. Sorry it’s hard to see it in the picture. You can zoom in and kinda see it I’ll try to take a better picture. I got her about two months ago and her fin was fine so she tore it in my tank about a month after being in it. Then it...
Hello, so I have a betta fish and she has a tear on your fin and it’s been weeks and it won’t heal. I saw at the store they have API betta fix and I was wondering if I should try that. I think it’s just tea tree oil. Also, there’s brown spots all over my fake silk plants. Could it be something...
