I have to take a last minute trip to my parents house for a week and am wondering what the best plan of action is as far as feeding my bettas. I’ve heard the dissolving blocks do more harm than good. If I feed them a lot the day I leave, will they be fine without food until I get back?

It’s all diatoms, like a carpet lol. I will try planting those things you mentioned. The tank that is bad is actually a divided tank and on the side with water wisteria and hornwort, there’s significantly less diatoms. So I think you are definitely right that I need more & different plants
