Yeah the rainbows are a pretty fish. Years and years ago before I knew better I had a redtailed catfish. He was in a 6ft tank but I loved him. He knew us and would eat out of our hands etc and had a real personality. That's the type of thing I'd want to recreate but not with a red tail obviously.

Yeah I know that I guess what I was asking was the best way to do that. I don't have a spare tank so will be fish be ok in a large plastic tub or polystyrene box overnight with a heater and airstone so I can drain my tank?

Hi, The nitrate test specifically needs to be shaken in the while bottles for 30 seconds before use. If it's not shaken enough it will give false low readings. Hope this helps.

Hi, I had the same issue. I have male and female platies and still have one male who constantly bullies another male. I ended up removing the bully but the little guy who got picked on still hides constantly . Some fish are just A******s unfortunately.

It was in the middle in old tank so wanted it at the side for a change but I think it's too far over now so probably will slide across a bit. I've got bubbles to hide the heater and I want some taller plants for the middle too.
