Glo shark died 😢 what did I do wrong??

It doesn't look like any fish killed the shark at all. Is this tank cycled? How long has it been set up? What are ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels?

    Water changes ...

I gravel vac into drum on wheels and move from tank to tank there is a submersible pump in the drum that drains right to the sink. To fill I use a python with a splitter so I can fill 2 tanks at once. Everything has quick connectors at the end so I can swap and stow everything as needed. I...

    Help identifying this fish

Body shape and that blotch in the middle of the body is leading me towards thinking it's a hap. You may have to wait for a proper ID. It could be the electric blue ahli.

    Beach sand

Pool filter sand is perfectly fine and I have no issues getting it in the desired color. You don't want white. Play sand is a perfectly fine option as well. With other inexpensive options, I think beach sand should be crossed out as an option. There's too much risk and work that'll go into it...

How to introduce a fish arriving in the mail to the tank?

Same way you normally acclimate. Float it for 30 minutes, add only the fish into the tank. It'll take days for the fish to fully acclimate. You're going to want to get the fish out of that dirty water asap. Do not drip acclimate. Drip acclimating sounds good, but when you factor in how...

    Oscar Tank Mates?

A 55 is really bare minimum for an oscar alone with no tankmates. Many would argue that a 75 is actually the minimum for an oscar only.

    Brown Algae

I have this light and it's a really great light for the price. Out of the box, it is far too bright and is an algae growing machine. If you get the corresponding dimmer, you can dim the light. I've found that 50% brightness or so is the right number. Algae is no longer a problem either.

New life spectrum cichlid pellets, northfin cichlid pellets and veggie, omega one pellets New life spectrum flakes, omega one flakes Bug bites cichlid, bug bites spirulina flakes, bug bites flakes. Bug bites are awesome. Frozen brine shrimp That's what my apistos eat. Pretty much the other...

    MTS is real

MTS? Idk what that is but it sounds amazing. Once upon a time I had a bunch of tanks. I slowly started to take them down because I knew I'd be moving. When I moved, I told myself "Only one tank, a big one." Good thing I don't listen to myself.

    Help me sex these fish

Whoa that JD is a tough one to sex. The best way is that females tend to have a lot more coloration around their gills and not as much on their body. Males don't have that "beard" but have much more on their body. That one has the coloration on the gills that would say female, but females...

    Discus or Cichlid Tank?

Cichlids is certainly a vague term with thousands of different fish of various sizes, aggression levels, diet, and water requirements. You can do dwarf cichlids in a 20 gallon. And others need a 125 or more for one fish. Discuss is pretty much expert level being some of the hardest fish to care...

    cleaning filter media

I guess it would be ok to use de chlorinated water but..... it's just easier to use tank water. Clean it with old tank water while you water change and you don't have to worry about wasting and dosing product.

    Shell Dwellers

It's a 26 bow with guppies that are doing surprisingly well together. I'm really liking the multis so I'll likely move some stuff around to get them into one of the bigger tanks. Here's what's going on. I did use the escargot shells since they seemed to be the best option. If you find anything...

    Shell Dwellers

I have multis and I went with them over the others because of their behavior. The ocellatus are the best looking in my opinion, but from what I see are much less active than the multis. Similus and multis are very similar, but multis are better looking imo with the blue eye. No matter what...

    Firemouth Cichlid aggression help?

I have a firemouth with my severum and they do great together. The severum is more than double it's size though. I'd expect there to be issues if they were the same size. Help me identify what type of Cichlids these are!!

I'm going with salvini as well. The color is a bit washed out. But body shape and pattern around the eye and body say salvini to me. They need a bigger tank. I'd say at least a 55, and more ideally larger since they are so mean.

They are one of my favorite fish, but they do get big so they need a big tank.

I'd highly advise against severum or peacock for this tank size. It's just far too small.

    Finding the Right Algae Eater

As far as "doing work" you won't find anything better than a bristlenose pleco. In my area, these plecos have been at an insane demand and have been really hard to come by. The prices have tripled recently....maybe even more. I guess people have finally figured out these are one of the best...

    LED light suggestions

The fluval aquasky is ok. You really don't get much custimization as far as light goes since the colored diodes are tiny. I have a few led lights, all around the same price and similar features on paper.....but the finex planted is by far the best.

    Is this a good stand?

What about building your own stand? A couple 2x4's and some screws will get the job done. I would also highly recommend against that "stand" You may find one used, but it'll be hard to find someone selling only the stand for such a specific sized tank. Building your own stand is probably your...

Hauling buckets.... there has to be a better way.... but what?

Python water changer would be great for 2 small tanks. I use the brute can on a dolly as mentioned above with a submersible pump and a hose ran to the sink to drain. Then I fill with the python sink adapter with a pvc hook that I made at the other end.
