    Not sure how much of a difference this makes, but some of those clarifiers have an optimal ph range. This is usually somewhere between 6.5-8.5. If your ph is 6.4 then maybe.....

    If your ammonia reading is 4-5pmm you can take them out. But those levels are not really high. I'd take em out, its true that the bactiera need something to feed on but taking the prawns out won't take out the ammonia thats in the tank already.
