    Stocking suggestions please :)

Byron, I know you definitely know your stuff. I am not arguing, nor looking for some sort of confrontation. I see this everywhere about goldfish being 'cold water' fish. I've wondered if people assume because they can survive in colder water that they are, in fact, a cold water fish...

    55 Gal Fancy tail

Just a confirmation on the work place thing. I don't think I'd classify Aquatic Imports as a 'family' run. It was just the grand father, and the father. Now Roger and his sister Pam run the operation. Only 4 others + the delivery guy. The others also swore by Roger's methods and their tanks...

    55 Gal Fancy tail

Hey hey funny was discussing this with the wife yesterday / today about stuff I believe I may have been mis informed on over the years. I must say, there is so much more online these days compared to when we first started going with the tanks. Education on fish and fish care is much easier...

Ideas for fish for a 20 Gal aquarium?

You could do some of the smaller Gourami types if you'd like. Honey, Sunset, and chocolate gourami's are relatively smaller. You could do 4 Honey's or 4 Chocolate's in a 10 gal. I'd probably only do 2 Sunset's because you'll probably want a smaller pleco and maybe a cory.

Side note I forgot about: Pertaining to the playground sand. I've tried a few different kinds, they are all fine if they are dark. We tried a 'white' playground sand once. Two months later and still finding / dealing with sand dust / residue in the filter equipment. We ended up putting the...

OK so.. let's start with the tank and why I do what I do. And let me say, I've never run Discus fish and I know they need extra extra care so I am unaware if these methods would be advisable for Discus. This method though, has been done on Angels, a few gourami tanks, a couple fancy tail...

Over the years, I had wished that I had done some type of fish journaling. Realistically for my own notes and reminders and things. I think a journal for your tank is an absolutely great idea and I'm going to take full advantage here ;) So, we lived in Calgary, AB for a little over 10 years...

Do you think that gouramis would be aggressive with aquatic frogs?

I'm going to chime in here as I've had multiple Gourami tanks over the years. I wouldn't put anything in the tank with a Dwarf Gourami but other Dwarf Gourami's. They are aggressive and especially to other Gourami's and smaller fish. I would agree that Pearl Gourami are nice and peaceful and...

just some crappy quick ones from the phone. I'll pull out the actual camera once the tank is good to go and post some real pics. We like to get the fish young / small as it's a pure joy watching them grow over time / years. We had our Oranda and "big red" Ryukin for just over 3 years before...

    good day all

i was just thinking maybe I should snap some photos of the fish at least. I have a beauty piece of driftwood we got at the beach, it's not fully water logged so I have it being held down in the tank right now by the rock that are going in anyway. Didn't want to post any tank pics until she was...

    good day all

Hey all, new to the forum figured an intro is in order. Long time fish lover / owner, when we lived in Calgary we had 4 tanks going. A 60 gal and a 30 gal in the living room, and 2 30 gal's going in the bedroom. Moved back to the east coast in late 2008 and have only recently had time to put...
