    Are My Snails Laying Eggs?

i think those are eggs, that being said, they are not from an apple snail (probibly a different snail species not sure what one).  gestation period very between species but probably within 2-3 weeks (just a guess)

    Lighting Timer And Healthy Fish

everything i have read suggests that you put your tank lights on a timer and put it on roughly 12 hour cycles.  some things i read also suggest varying that based on actual daylight hours in the region your fish or plants are from.  my question is this... how important is this?  right now this...

    My 55

Most recently i added some more driftwood,  a couple more plants, 6 coreys and 5 Bolivian rams.  I did have to take out one of the gourami who was getting aggressive with the rams but the other gourami seems fine with them.  this is where i am with the tank currently and i did manage to get a...

    My 55

Thanks, but i didn't know tanks had a shelf life.  how long do they usually last?  i always figured that glass and silicone would last forever. After that i decided to redecorate.  over the course of three weeks i changed a third of the substrait with my weekly water changes. (what a pain i...

    Changing Substrate?

i divided my tank into three sections, then during my weekly water changes i took the fish out, and removed and replaced the substrate in 1 section a week for three weeks.  i also used rock in-between the new and the old substrate to minimize the mixing.  that way i didn't get rid of all the...

    What Is This!?!?

it is mopani wood.  after googleing mopani wood sap i think that is what it is.  Thanks for the thought.  will the sap hurt the fish?  is it weird to have sap leach out after the wood has been in the tank over a month?

    Stocking Advice

Please take everything that website says with a very large pinch of salt. Stocking is way too complicated for a database-driven website to get right, and forum policy is not to promote it because it is so unreliable. You'll get better advice from the people of the forum.   thank you for...
