I left him in the clove oil till he was breathing slowly and laying upside down oon the bottom(took 2 drops). Then I put him into 30F water(instant shock, stops the heart), he died quickly.

He he suffering with Bloat, and it's too far to cure. I have clove oil, but I don't have vodka. What else can I use? Vinegar? Ammonia? Thanks

There is something wrong with my red wag tail platy's swim bladder. It's been swimming wit it's head down for a couple weeks now, and I read that there isn't a cure for it. Should I give him a bath of clove oil? :-(

Thanks. I used Pool filter sand from Homedepot($5.00 for 50lbs). I have noticed that my mollies and plecos seem happier, one of the mollies was sifting through it with his mouth.

Make sure the fan is close and blowing directly on the water. I have a 40mm PC fan running at 6v, and it cools my 55 gallon from 82 to 78.5. The fan is 1" over the water.

I have 2 white sailfin mollies in my tank, and they are the best looking fish. They are REALLY bright and stand out.

First of all: Fill it up till it overflows into your tank. Make sure the impeller is not stuck. I have an emperor 400 myself, and it's awesome. It keeps my fully stocked 55g clear anough to read a newspaper through long ways. It'll be loud the first couple of months until the bio wheels...

I have a solid, mature 55 gallon. Water quality never changes(except for nitrates lol) and fish are happy. Hey Synirr: Cool, another Texan. Do you have to run the AC all day? Lol :/

Just use a toothpick and put it through the bottom of the cucumber, and stick the toothpick in the gravel.

What I mean by indirect light is when you can't see the light on objects, but it lights up the room alittle. I was going to use rainbow rock until I heard it raised the PH and hardness of the water. It makes sense, when you feel it's chalky like limestone. Just watch your PH and hardness.

Yes, but with only a 55g I'd rather not cramp the fish. I don't know if it's just me, but I hate seeing anything bigger then 5" in a 55g.

I'm giving my gourami back to my LFS after he terrorized my mollies. :angry: 3 of the biggest fry are 1/2 inch long, the rest are tiny. The platies and mollies don't care for them, and the gourami is to lazy to chase a fast little baby. I was about to buy an angel, but my PH is a "little" high.

I have an Olhausen 8' pool table, and it's 1" slate alone weighs in at over 650lbs. But it really depends on the table. You can tell how much it wil hold by the thickness of the slate, how thick is yours?

Maybe if I can go back to that LFS, i'll get a picture. But, he did have those stripes on him, so I dunno.
