I have a small pond and I am not sure if I have to keep it spotless. It has a liner but on the sides, ( under the water) it is a bit slimey, I do not have anything on the bottom but it gets a little muckey which I scoop out weekly. The water is usually fairly clear unless I stir up the bottom. :/

I have a bristlenose in what I call my coldwater tank, it doesn't have a heater but very rarely does it drop below 20o. :hyper:

I hope I am not being a dumb blonde here, but I thought that the bacteria would probably grow in the soil and gravel that the plant is potted in. :dunno:

I think the pond works out to about 78 US gallons and no I don't have gravel in the bottom it is just the pond liner. :/

very nice pond, it is very relaxing and enjoyable just sitting out near the pond wasting time. I never get bored watching fish being fish. Hope you have many years of enjoyment from your pond. B)

I have been feeding my fish peas lately. I blanch them then take the outer case off. The fish go ballistic over them. The loaches look really funny swimming around with this huge pea in their mouths. My Bristlenose sits at the bottom of the tank sucking away for ages on his pea. :cool:

I agree about the CAE, when I was just starting out and got my first fish tank, second hand with 2 6inch gold fish, Which now I know better than to keep goldfish in a tank, A pet store told me how the CAE were great glass cleaners, so I bought 2, Little did I know they liked cleaning the scales...

Thanks guys, but the tanks are not mine, I was enquiring for someone else. The 2 tanks are not heated but they stay at room temperature. The goldfish seem quite happy at the moment. She has a bit of algae gowing on the glass quite often because the tanks are close to a window so I thought a BN...

my sister in-law has 2 50 litre tanks and has algae problems in both, are they big enough for a brisatlenose catfish. 1st tank has 2 fantails, 2 black widows and a peppered cory. tank 2 has 2 comets, 2 albino cories and 1 white cloud. :drool:

I have found a lot of information in my local library. You can order books if they don't have many and then you can pick the best to purchase for yourself. I just keep getting the books out all the time then I don't have to buy any. These web sites are really usefull as well as questions can be...

I have 3 clown loaches, 1 red-tailed black shark, 1 bristlenose, 2 bala sharks and 1 glassfish can I have any platies in with these fish or are they too small. :flex:
