I think I'll just keep with WC until it cycles then I will use the prime or amquell to treat my water from the tap. I never had water issues until the pregnancy of this fish. Perhaps this is a lesson in complacency !

WC are now hard as well since I tested my tap, it's got 2ppm that's ridiculous. So now for water change I have to add double the dose of AmQuel just to put the added water at 0ppm. I do it upstairs as well with the 55g.

I have the filter that came with the 10g set up an Aqueon 10. The filters from the cycled tank are too big! I put a dash of prime to buy me some time. Do you think I can just place a filter from the cycled in the tank loose? Should I add some of the cycled tank water to the 10g? On another note...
