    Gambusia rhizophorae; Mangrove Mosquitofish

One of my favorite fish genera is Gambusia. And one of my new favorite fish I've discovered is the Mangrove Gambusia. They like our regular mosquito fish but brackish and full-on tropical from the deep south of Florida. What's most amazing about them is their striking blue eyes and green dorsal...

As a livebearer enthusiast from North Carolina, I've made it my goal to collect the live bearers of my state (an easy feat, as we only have three. For if we're splitting hairs). The only one left for me is sailfin Mollys! Which I have a plan for in 2025.

The stem plant is Bacopa Caroliniana. It floats until its roots reach the floor and it pulls itself down. The rest is algae: the most important plant for most tanks with livebearers.😁

ONE IMPORTANT TIP I FORGOT! Whatever you decide to keep these fish in, start a colony of microfauna for a few weeks before adding the fish. That would make for a better food for them than dry food, which quickly spoils the water. phillipsfishworks's Bag of Bugs is a good example.

You introduced runts to an established colony. 😅 You *never* introduce runts to an established colony. I think you should take the most beat up one out and put them in his own tank for a few months to grow some size on him. Then when you're ready to introduce him back into the tank, buy a few...

    Is my ballon molly pregnant

The short answer is maybe. Females can save sperm and impregnate themselves many times after one spawning And can give birth every 6 to 8 weeks. It's just best to assume she is.

    Is my molly pregnant?

To answer your question... 🤷🏿‍♂️Maybe? Mollys, like the other popular Livebearers, can store sperm for the future. So if she's one of the ones you just bought, she probably is. Also, I wouldn't worry about separating the babies. Since these guys give birth every 6-8 weeks, 🤣your tank would be...

Who gets stress bars male or female discus fish?

Discus are Amazon River fish that are sensitive to water quality fluctuations. Try smaller, less frequent water changes and feeding less(1-2 times a week). __________ Edit: be mindful with how much water you pulled during water changes. While you're removing waste, you're also removing...

Frequent fish deaths - advice needed!

It's more likely the fish than anything you're doing. Fancy guppies are very, very inbred and have weaker immune systems. So sudden changes in water quality (for example, taking The fish from pet store water to clean aquarium water) can be detrimental to them
