    Donya's 55-Gallon

Wow, she is one tough fish. You can't reduce the strength of the formalin, just to give her time to heal her tail a bit more? It'd stink to have her come this far only to die of a secondary infection. Yes, I'm gunning for the crazy b**** now. I'm a softie! L

Aquamarine 900 Journal - My First Marine Tank

If you are lucky to find a mated pair, that's the one exception to them being kept singly. Mated pairs are hard to come by, though. I loved my gramma. A perfect fish and a great personality. If you get an outgoing one, you won't regret the choice. Just be really careful with lids. I can't...

Stocking Of My 10 Gallon Reef

Bear in mind that crazyforcorydoras is past the stocking limit for a tank that size. Especially with regard to fish choice. In this hobby, one thing I've learned... What works for one may not work for the other.

Stocking Of My 10 Gallon Reef

Yes, having an angelfish go nuts & munch on Xenia isn't so bad. Having an angel munch on your $40 a polyp God of War or your super rare Acan Lords is not so good.

    Spotted Mandarin

If this the 10g you are referring to in another section, then my answer is no. Three fish pushes the stocking already.

    My New Discus

Hey, stop tempting Simon away from the Salty side, unless... the two of us gang up and make him have discus and SW? Hahaha, then you two gang up on me and I get a discus tank... Then Si and I gang up on you and you do a SW... It's all good. :good: In any order of course. The wrigglers look...

Water Change Of Curing Live Rock

The advice you read is consistent with what I told you. If the ammonia is too high, then yes, you do the water changes to bring the level down, but I don't consider your level all that high yet and you already have nitrite, so the cycling process has begun. Continue to monitor your levels...

Stocking Of My 10 Gallon Reef

Water Change Of Curing Live Rock

Do you have an ammonia test kit? you'll also need nitrite & nitrate test kits. You typically do the water change when you have nitrates, unless the curing is particularly nasty, then I'd do water changes to keep ammonia in check. You don't need much ammonia to get a good cycle going. What is...

Stocking Of My 10 Gallon Reef

I was considering the cherub for my 36g, but ultimately shot it down as I'm not confident that it won't eat my corals. How long has the tank been setup? Some of your fish choices are controversial for such a small tank. That being said, I make some controversial choices too and if you are...

    A Hectic Month Ahead...

I'll be doing my water changes. :( No trips planned anymore cause no moneys. I may take some day trips or do tourist stuff in Miami. I don't think we're painting, just cleaning and making some repairs. L

    Just Thinking Out Loud

That's not a bad start up size and the dimensions are actually really good. Yes, I've got a few tanks that I've converted from FW to SW by just piecing together the right equipment. L

    Just Thinking Out Loud

Anything between 10-30g is considered nano. Sorry, I'm from the US & it's 6am, so my brain isn't up for converting yet. The bigger the tank, the more stable it is. I like 20g longs personally. Great shape, shallow for good light. Nice & wide for scaping & fitting extra equipment, and it's a...

    Llj's 8G... Yuma/zoanthid Garden

It's always rough to lose a fish. I kinda feel this way about the gramma. I'm not sure I want to replace him. The green ones are lovely. I thought about it, but I was very picky about them eating pellets. Sure! Welcome aboard! As long as you are willing to be slave to its demanding needs, sure.

    Llj's 8G... Yuma/zoanthid Garden

What kind of Mandarins did you own? Yeah, it's a great goby. I like it. In many ways, the coolest of the gobies I've had. Today, I have to empty the refugiums for this tank & the 5.5g. I'm just going to dump it in the quarantine tank for now. I just can't toss it & the light in the...

    Llj's 8G... Yuma/zoanthid Garden

The goby is getting used to things, though not as quickly as my jawfish and firefish have. Those two are bosom buddies and eat like pigs. The Mandarin is actually a bit of a surprise. He's quite extroverted, though in an understated Mandarin sort of way. Yes, we'll continue to work on...

    Llj's 8G... Yuma/zoanthid Garden

Is it not a wonderful place to be? Either she's a female and they grey as they mature, or there is actually a grey morph of the species. I did a bit of research and have seen pictures of yellow mated pairs and grey mated pairs, so my inclination is that she's a color morph. Not sure why...

I finally got some good pictures of my grey ywg. Yep definitely not yellow. But first Mr. Mandarin settling in. He loves mysis, pellets, and yes, pods. The ywg with the tiger pistol, look at the size difference, you can see she's much, much larger than my previous ywg. Look at that...

    Llj's 8G Oceanic Biocube

The LEDs make the color REALLY pop. I love it under the blues. The LEDs also make some of the corals grow like crazy. My duncan will have to be moved when I do the upgrade for the old 8g over the summer, as it started with 4 heads and now has 12. That's stupid fast growth. I'll have to start...
