The bacteria will process ammonia more slowly at colder temperatures, so this will mean there will have to be more bacteria to handle the smae amount of fish at a lower water temp. -FHM

There is no such thing as too much flow rate. One of my tanks has perfect water parameters at less then 1x turn over in an hour... and some of my other tanks are pushing 10x+ turn over rate an hour. Whatever you think is okay will be find because the bacteria will very easily be able to adapt...

I just put the male in a breeders net. He was very easy to catch since he did not swim away because he was trying to guard the fry. And some of the babies have managed to find the female hiding under the log. She immediately got her color back and hopefully throughout the day she will venture...

Transporting: Double bag with 1/3 water and 2/3 air. You can throw some fish food in the bag to provide a bit of ammonia. -FHM

Sounds like a plan to me. As long as you have media and water running through it (filter) than the bacteria will colonize on it. -FHM

Are you trying to farm bacteria? First off... cool.. second... it may be a little hard as it would be a never ending process of adding ammonia. Just stick to the the 5 ppm rule... that is how much ammonia you should add and monitor ammonia levels everyday. -FHM

Usually if someone has well water, then a water conditioner is not needed, as well water does not contain chlorine and other harmful chemicals. -FHM

Neons should really be in a tank that has been running for at least 6+ months. But if you keep your water parameters spot on, then this should not be a problem. -FHM

I say you are nearly done with the cycle! Maybe a couple more days of adding ammonia, if that, and you are ready to do the 90% water change and add fish! :hyper: Congrats! -FHM
