    Duckweed!?

Some of you may feel personally attacked by me asking for duckweed, but I love feeding it to my snails, goldfish, and turtle. Normally, I don’t have enough to go around. Unfortunately, a bit of a tank disaster caused all of what I had to die. I know that anyone who has duckweed thriving in a...

Is this fin rot?? Or something else? PLEASE HELP.

Yes, a large water change should help with the ammonia at least. I'm not an expert on bettas specifically, but I know ammonia or other unsafe parameters could make it much harder for the fish to heal. @PheonixKingZ ? I know you're the betta expert, what do you think about the fins? :/

    Struggling with plants.

I think you figured it out... because now that I think about it, it was the adult plants with the tabs that went first, then the runners. The crypts, without the tabs, are doing well. Roots were definitely burnt... I ended up removing them, trimming the bad ones, adding more substrate, taking...

I wouldn’t recommend jumping to a medication without having a clear view on what the issue is, if there is one to see. If you fill this out, we can help figure out the problem sooner: Tank size: tank age: pH: ammonia: nitrite: nitrate: kH: gH: tank temp: Fish Symptoms (include full...

    Struggling with plants.

Sorry about the very dirty tank, I’ve been doing water changes but my gravel vacuum broke. When I got them, they were really tall, but they’ve been dying back to barely anything. They crypts have been doing fine, and while the dwarf sag actually started with a similar problem, it doesn’t...

It’s at 78, sometimes 77. Sand is maybe and inch and a half. I can check the nitrate when I get home.

    Struggling with plants.

Of course. The tank is a 20 long. Lighting is an Aquanet full spectrum LED, this is the info of the light on Amazon. “ Total of 60LEDs, 1500 lumen 44 pcs 6500K White 8 pcs Actinic Blue 4 pcs Pink 4 pcs Green” I actually fear it’s too bright, it’s pretty intense. It doesn’t have any dimming...

Personally, I would do two add a time. Having patience would be much better than dealing with an ammonia spike.

    Struggling with plants.

I recently ordered some jungle Val. I knew it may take a while to adjust from being shipped, but it’s going very poorly. Was delivered September 28th. At first, I thought it wasn’t going to melt back or have too many problems, and it started sending runners. Now, everything is dying. The little...

    Assassin Snail Inquiry

Look at the shells of the ramshorns. Do they look healthy? If they’re breeding, I’m sure they’re fine, but check for little holes or dents. That would indicate the water is probably too acidic for them. :)

    Cloudy tank

How big was the water change yesterday? Since it’s not harmful to your fish, you could wait for it to settle and see if it improves. A water change won’t hurt though. You could do something a bit larger, maybe 40-50%

    Cloudy tank

I can see it. Maybe try a water change. If it’s been cycled recently, it could be from that. Normally it’s caused by elevated nutrient levels, but if you haven’t really changed anything I’m not sure what would have caused it. You can try adding carbon to the filter, but I’d try a water change...

The tank is 40 gallons. I could have put them in a 55, but honestly they seem to like the smaller one better. The smallest fish has a bent spine, and has trouble swimming for a while after I got him. They actually lived in a small pond for a summer before a move, and unfortunately I found the...
