    PH Drop

Yesterday I tested the Ph in a fairly new, but cycled tank. It was 8.2. Today, it is about 7.4-7.8. Why did it drop, and should I do a water change?

    Snails Problems

I don’t feed spinach very often, maybe once a month. They eat just about everything. Algae wafers, cucumbers, green beans, etc.

Temp was two degrees difference, I just acclimated them slowly to the new water. Both tanks had been cleaned the week before.

@mbsqw1d The media is from the canister from my goldfish tank. The snails I added were from a breeder box in there.

What does everyone here consider to be the best way to acclimate snails (or inverts in general) to a tank?

    Betta Fish Emergency!

I’m so sorry for your loss. I wish I could have helped more. In the future, be very careful about what and how much you are feeding your betta fish. Some fish are more prone to that kind of problem than others unfortunately.

Try less light. With no live plant or fish, you really don’t even need to have it on.

    Betta Fish Emergency!

The epsom salt may help, but it seems he’s pretty far gone. Is he eating at all? You can try a mashed pea maybe. I don’t know much about bettas, but it works for goldfish. Any more updates on how he’s doing?

    Snails Problems

The tank was bought brand new. There is substrate, gravel. (I had moved it too the other side of the tank when I added in the snails.) it’s a ten gallon, running on sponge filters and a little internal one I added in because it has cycled media in it.

    Snails Problems

Without fail, every snail I put in this tank meets the same end. They seem fine for a little bit, then almost seem to look paralyzed. These pictures are of rams horns I added last night. They ate a bit of spinach, and then slowly started dying like the other snails I have tried in the past. The...

    Little sisters fish needs help!

Hmmmm. The fish doesn't look like it has anything wrong with it. At least from the picture, it's hard to tell if there is a problem. Definitely clean it as @Colin_T said. Good luck!

This video should help you out. It breaks “neon tetra disease” into different parts, so you can figure out what’s really wrong with your fish. Best of luck!

How many inches of sand is recommended for corys? I’ve never owned them. I only have a thin layer in there right now.

Has anyone ordered from shrimpy_business on eBay?

I wish I could. I used to keep shrimps, and I actually sold them. (Those specifically) I ended up selling the last of them. Wish I would have kept some. Really, I should have taken some pictures of the tank. They did have nice coloring.

    Tiny shell?

Most likely there were eggs on the plants. Looks like a ramshorn snail. They don’t eat plants, so you don’t have to worry there. (Only the parts that are dead or dying) they won’t overpopulate unless you are over feeding. You can get rid of them, but you don’t have to. I keep them in all my...

    Snail Shopping

Does anyone know a good way to get a hold of mystery snails? (Specifically light footed purple striped) I tried ordering them recently, but it didn’t go well at all. What is the best place to get them, and have them end up safely in their tank? Thanks!

    What are these!?

What do I do about the ones already in the tank? I don’t think I’d be able to find them, and don’t want to end up with adults. Will tetras be able to hunt them down?

If I put them in a tank, what happens to the ones that don’t get eaten? Will they live? And will the ones in the container grow?

    What are these!?

Set up a plastic container outside, using it for growing duckweed and some other floating plants. Noticed these worm-like things in there. What are they, and how can I get rid of them?

Ping pong fish and black moor

Hard to say exactly. It could be 1.000, could be 3,000. It could be even more. Really it depends on how many survive, and how many were actually fertilized. You also would have to cull some of them, if they have bent spines or other issues. It can be difficult to know how many fry you will...

She's most likely carrying eggs. Neons are such small fish, it's a bit hard to tell.

Ping pong fish and black moor

Well. technically they could, I suppose it would depend if they even get along. If you let them you could end up with a ton of fry, which you most likely would not have somewhere to put. Especially with goldfish, even the fry need a lot of space. If they do breed, they'll end up eating the eggs...

    Help! New Snails!

The ones hanging out of their shell don't go back in, so they're definitely dead. The others aren't hanging out, but they're more than smelly. It's like smelling death. I'm just not sure what happened, or if I should order and try again.

    Help! New Snails!

Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse. At first, they moved around a tiny bit, then almost looked paralyzed. Half are in their shells, but the trapdoor is very far up. Also, they most definitely have that dead snail smell. The rest are hanging out. What went wrong? Parameters are the...
